What we want

Post: # 15Post Jomac

Hello,
As you can see, this forum is empty and at the moment, has no structure to it. What we want you to do is just play, see if you can break things. If you find any bugs, report them in the main section and we will fix them. Once you have a feel for the website, make suggestions as to what you would like to see on the site, any and all suggestions are very welcome. Sales, both private and commercial is one thing i would like to see here, thats just my two pennies worth.

Dont worry about what you post, we can tidy up later. The initial group of 50 will be asked if they then want to take over the role of moderator and help run this site.

Have fun,
John

Then best bit about a forum is having some structure rather than posts going in chronological order in facebook. You then have a fighting chance of finding stuff. Also you can have stickies at the top, so all the commonly asked stuff can be at the top. Saves repost after repost.

I agree admins need their own area, just to discuss forum stuff.

Its very easy to have an admin only area, in fact its very easy to have an admin and a second moderator area that is password controlled. These area's cant be seen by normal users, just admins and mods

One of the things i would like to add, is LIVE chat, ive had this before on a PHP site, and was very popular. Its also easy to have a private chat, just for admins, in the same way we have private chat for the admins on FB

Greetings everyone,

in my opinion, what we need here is:
- main 2 sections: "Hardware" and "software"
- "How to" section, for the non-complicated fixes/upgrades.
- "Common Questions" sections, for the question that being posted daily, such as "which is better, glass or PEI"
- "Unusual Problems" section, where the experts think and find a solution.
- a small, sub "Electronics" sections, to talk about fixes and upgrades that require a bit of electronics-experience.

All on board Kanawati, but quite how we put these into sections is open for further discussions.

Oh! and a very little nice thing I saw in several forums: a "Thank you" button. I believe the efforts should be appreciated (plus it will save space)
